Kayla - Office Manager, OA
Kayla has a diverse working background, from machining, retail, and banking. She has always excelled in the job opportunities that she pursued and yet none have captured her attention and admiration to make a lifelong career. That all changed when she walked into the doors of North Coast Orthodontics in 2013. The professionalism and patient driven environment of the practice immediately caught her attention and Kayla knew she wanted to be part of that atmosphere. Kayla has never been more empowered and is excited and honored to now be the Office Manager.
Kayla was born in San Jose and after schooling in Santa Cruz, she fell in love with the beach and decided to stay on this side of the hill. Kayla is very family oriented and makes the quick trip to San Jose often. She loves to run, eat, watch movies, and spend time with her dog Wyo.
Jade - Clinical Supervisor, RDA
Jade been working alongside both Dr.Brian Schabel and Dr. Vivian Chan since 2016. As a previous patient, Jade is always very eager to share her personal experience! Having both braces and Invisalign, she finds it easy to connect with patients that are in treatment or about to start treatment. Her favorite part about being a Registered Dental Assistant at North Coast Orthodontics is being able to be a part of patient’s orthodontic journey. She likes being able to help with appointments, watch treatment progress, and encourage our patients to keep them motivated until the end. The most rewarding part is seeing our patient's reactions the first time they see themselves with a new smile. She believes that when we work as a team we are able to achieve smiles that shine with confidence.
In her time away from work, she loves spending time with her husband, their dog and two cats. Jade likes staying active by going to the gym and ridingon her Peloton Bike. She also enjoys spending time with her family and friends with activities like camping, traveling and discovering new places. Time with the loved ones is most valuable to her.
Mellani - Treatment Coordinator
Mellani joined the North Coast Orthodontics team in September of 2021 as a Treatment/Financial Coordinator and Front Office Lead. After working in six specialty healthcare fields, she decided to venture into the world of orthodontics and she is so happy she did! Mellani enjoys working directly with the doctors and patients during exams and seeing their transformative process take place and she feels so fortunate to work with such an amazing team.
Mellani has lived in California most of her life but recently relocated to Santa Cruz County. Outside of work she enjoys practicing yoga, painting and spending as much time outdoors as possible.
